Who is your Secret Weapon?

I know more than once I have been. Sometimes I’ve been really inspired, and sometimes in those moments when something has to work now not some day.

Over the years I’ve done countless courses and programs – yes learning a lot – and also investing lots of time and money. Did they help.. in a way.. and yet not really when I look back on it. Not in the areas that really mattered.

I’ve also read thousands of books, and spent time quality time with “inspiring” people – often many of the well known experts who others rave about.

The truth is I’ve been often disappointed.

The results the courses offered I came to learn were a mirage.

Who they were off stage and behind closed doors – a far cry from the character in front of the crowds.

Sometimes the sales pitches were bait and switches.. They sold X.. so they could then upsell me Y, and always get moving the needle.

Sometimes these “business friends” really didn’t care.. and when it came to how can I do X.. they really didn’t know, or worse they got their results by using others and not in ways that any sane person could or would want to replicate.

Sometimes what they were actually selling was the same old common sense wrapped up in shiny branding and marketing.

The sizzle far outweighing the steak, and worse often until not years later realising that the people who put themselves up on the pedestals often only really care about themselves.
